Some people aspire to be great athletes, owners of multi-million dollar companies, star in block buster movies, or write the great American novel. These are their goals.
Others want to be independent and care for themselves—prepare meals, shop for groceries, style their hair, or simply open the mail. These are their goals. For those who have suffered from a stroke, the daily tasks many of us take for granted become their goals.
The comprehensive stroke rehabilitation program includes evaluations and services dedicated to the unique needs of each individual patient. Our intensive program includes a professional team led by a doctor that specializes in physical medicine. This team provides physical, cognitive, emotional, and speech/language rehabilitation therapies. Patients receive treatment with warmth, compassion and efficiency with an emphasis on spirituality. The goal is to make sure every patient achieves their highest possible level of independence—and quality of life.

Step by Step
Each patient is evaluated and treated by a team of professionals assisted by family members. The team is led by a physician specializing in physical medicine. Evaluations for functional deficits in physical, psychological, social, vocational, and cognitive areas are completed at the time of admission. Weekly conferences are held with the team to measure progress and modify treatment plans. All progress is reported to family members, referring physicians, and referring facilities. As the patient reaches goals, case managers confirm discharge plans made prior to the patient's admission and how these plans meet the needs of patients and family members. After leaving the inpatient setting, support for ongoing outpatient care is made to continue the patient's recovery process.
