As a unique part of CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System’s commitment to care for the individuals and families in our community, we offer the most comprehensive fitness center in our region, complete with the very best equipment, supervision and environment.
So, while CHRISTUS St. Michael is here for you during times of medical emergency or illness, we are also here to help keep you healthy, fit and feeling good in mind, body and spirit. To join, there is a one-time, start-up fee that will cover your initial physical assessment. Joining fees and regular monthly fees vary according to your membership classification. As a member of the
CHRISTUS St. Michael Health & Fitness Center, you will not be bound by any contract. However, there is a rejoining fee of $50 if you terminate your membership or are inactive for a year or more. Please call us or go to our website for more information.
The CHRISTUS St. Michael Health & Fitness Center is bright, high-tech and well-planned for an efficient, enjoyable workout. Within the 15,000-square-foot fitness center, we offer the finest equipment, resources and technology in the region. Additionally, the entire complex is completely handicapped-accessible.
Fitness activities include:
- Circuit Training: The state-of-the-art exercise equipment includes 19 weight lifting machines; a complete free weight area; a 33-piece cardiovascular circuit featuring treadmills, stationary bikes, stair climbers, rowing machines and Nordic Track cross country skiers.
- Aerobics: Classes include step aerobics; pre-and postnatal aerobics; geriatric aerobics and fitness programs; and children's aerobics and fitness programs.
- Spinning: This high-energy, indoor group cycling class is geared to both the beginner and highly fit. It’s an excellent way to increase your aerobic capacity.
- Pilates: A method of exercise and physical movement designed to stretch, strengthen, and balance the body. Pilates has proven itself invaluable not only as a fitness endeavor itself, but also as an important adjunct to professional sports training and physical rehabilitation of all kinds.
- Yoga: Through slow body movements and positions, the participant attains total relaxation and peace of mind.
- Outdoor Lap Pool: Members have access to a 6-lane, 25-yard pool. Although dedicated as a fitness pool, there are family and recreation swim times available.
- Computerized tracking and evaluation system: We uniquely offer the latest computer technology to help you document and monitor your progress. Upon leaving our facility, you may take a few moments to enter and evaluate your workout. Monthly reports may be obtained.
- Child Care: A free service to our members, supervised child care is available. The nursery area has restrooms, a baby bed and toys.
- Changing Room: For your convenience, we offer separate women's and men's locker rooms—each complete with changing area, lockers, restrooms and showers.
- Massage Therapy: This therapeutic service promotes and positively influences health and personal well-being through a peaceful and relaxing experience. It can also aid in injury prevention and rehabilitation.
